“ABSTRACT MOBILITY” for Mercedes
About This Project
Description
Project Overview:
For an exclusive evening event hosted by Mercedes, I created a series of abstract tape art installations. The goal was to immerse the venue in an urban, artistic atmosphere and to present the featured vehicles – the Mercedes V-Class and the GLC – in a completely new, dynamic light.
My Concept: Design Meets Urban Pulse
I leveraged the unique properties of tape art to visually merge the vehicles and the surrounding space:
* The Urban Look & Feel: The installations were intentionally designed with an abstract aesthetic to evoke a modern, raw, and artistic street-art vibe.
* Visualizing Motion: The designs on the vehicles (such as the geometric honeycomb pattern on the GLC or the flowing, rectangular lines on the V-Class) symbolize speed, technology, and data flow. The patterns appear to emanate from the cars, spreading across the floor and creating an illusion of dynamic movement.
* Light and Atmosphere: By integrating lighting effects (some neon or blacklight) and selecting nice matching colors (green and white & black), I created a striking contrast against the dark environment. The Mactac vinyls acted as a light trail, emphasizing the vehicles’ lines and bringing the installation to life.
Through this tape art, I transformed the cars from mere exhibits into vibrant, dynamic sculptures, crafting a unique, memorable, and urban atmosphere for the evening’s guests.
