Wimbledon 2025 – The Overhead
About This Project
Description
Serving up something truly epic for Wimbledon 2025… The Overhead!
Code named ‘The Overhead’ this massive vinyl display sits directly opposite Wimbledon Train Station and has proved truly unmissable. It has gained more than 1 million views during the two weeks of the iconic event!
We are incredibly proud to have delivered this project in time for this years Championships. It’s Wimbledon’s largest OOH site, at over 450m2 and has quickly become one of the highlights of our calendar year. It’s not just the scale, but the complexity and teamwork involved in producing an installation like this.
Before anything even went up the building was first laser scanned and then 3D modelled to ensure we maintained less than a 3mm tolerance!
For materials, we used a mixture of premium Mactac JT 8700 and WW100 due to the 3 different types of surfaces we had to wrap – Brick, Glass, Metal. Mactac performed amazingly with a high tack adhesive film and a soft face, it had the right mix of conformability and adhesion.
The graphics were carefully planned out and printed in coordination with the super precise building dimensions before they arrived on site for 200+ man hour installation to take place.
The result? It did exactly what it was intended to do, and got the arriving Wimbledon crowds in the mood for the tennis to come!
It was fantastic working alongside our long-term Wimbledon Partner, OOH media owner Hallmark Outdoor and VGL who supplied the print.
P.S This was all installed whilst abseiling, hanging down from ropes!
